ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Lispro
Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Corn Silk interacts with.
Animal research in diabetic mice shows that taking corn silk extract lowers fasting blood glucose levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Insulin lispro already lowers your blood sugar, and corn silk may nudge it down a little too. Put them together and you could theoretically end up lower than you intended, which we call hypoglycemia. With a fast-acting insulin like lispro, that can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling lightheaded.
I want to be honest about the evidence, though. This caution comes mainly from animal studies in diabetic mice, not solid human research, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven one. If you'd like to try corn silk, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood sugar readings so nothing catches you off guard.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Insulin Lispro page
“Blood sugar is the entire subject of this list. Insulin lispro (Admelog) is a rapid mealtime insulin dosed to bring glucose down after eating, and the supplements below can shove that same number around, most of them downward, which risks a genuine low.”

About Corn Silk
What is Corn Silk?
- Urinary tract and bladder problems
- Mild fluid retention (diuretic)
- Kidney and prostate concerns
- Bedwetting in children
- Soothing urinary irritation
Corn silk is a traditional herbal remedy taken as a tea or extract, mostly for urinary and mild fluid-related complaints. High-quality human evidence for these uses is limited, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally considered low-risk for short-term use in healthy adults, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before trying it.
About Insulin Lispro Injection
What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?
Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar
Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus.
