Here's the simple version: corn silk may have a mild blood sugar lowering effect of its own. So when you pair it with ertugliflozin (Steglatro), which already pushes glucose out through your urine, the two could add up and nudge your blood sugar lower than you intended. This isn't about corn silk changing how your body processes ertugliflozin, it's just two things working in the same direction.

I'll be honest with you, this concern is theoretical and comes mainly from studies in diabetic mice, not solid human data. Ertugliflozin alone rarely causes low blood sugar unless you also take insulin or a sulfonylurea. Still, it's worth watching for shakiness, sweating, or dizziness, and checking your readings. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding corn silk.
