Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Glipizide
Glipizide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Corn Silk interacts with.
Animal research in diabetic mice shows that taking corn silk extract lowers fasting blood glucose levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: glipizide already lowers your blood sugar by nudging your pancreas to release more insulin. Corn silk may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own, so stacking the two could push your numbers down a little too far. That raises the chance of hypoglycemia, which can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a fast heartbeat, confusion, or feeling suddenly weak or hungry.
I want to be honest about how strong this evidence is. Right now it's theoretical, based mainly on diabetic mouse studies, not solid human trials. A cup of corn silk tea now and then is unlikely to cause trouble, but concentrated extracts deserve more caution. Don't stop either one on your own. Just let your pharmacist or doctor know, and keep an eye on your home glucose readings.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Glipizide page
“Glipizide (Glucotrol, Glucotrol XL) lowers blood sugar by prompting the pancreas to release more insulin, and that same power is why I read its supplement list with real seriousness. Of the 307 ingredients on file, 239 also act on blood glucose, so stacking them can drive sugar dangerously low.”

About Corn Silk
What is Corn Silk?
- Urinary tract and bladder problems
- Mild fluid retention (diuretic)
- Kidney and prostate concerns
- Bedwetting in children
- Soothing urinary irritation
Corn silk is a traditional herbal remedy taken as a tea or extract, mostly for urinary and mild fluid-related complaints. High-quality human evidence for these uses is limited, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally considered low-risk for short-term use in healthy adults, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before trying it.

Glipizide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Glipizide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Corn Silk — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
