Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Semaglutide
Semaglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Corn Silk interacts with.
Animal research in diabetic mice shows that taking corn silk extract lowers fasting blood glucose levels.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: corn silk may have a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy, Rybelsus) already works to bring your glucose down, so stacking the two together could, in theory, push your numbers a little lower than expected. That might show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or feeling unusually hungry or weak, which are classic signs of low blood sugar.
I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It's based on lab and mouse studies, not real human trials, so the risk is theoretical and likely small, especially with a cup of corn silk tea. Still, if you'd like to try it, let your pharmacist or doctor know first, and keep an eye on your glucose readings the first week or two.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Semaglutide page
“Semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy) lowers blood sugar, and so do most of the 256 supplements on this page, which is why I read this list with real vigilance rather than a shrug. Nearly all of the entries either add to its glucose-lowering effect and raise the risk of hypoglycemia, or push sugar the other way and blunt it, as niaci…”

About Corn Silk
What is Corn Silk?
- Urinary tract and bladder problems
- Mild fluid retention (diuretic)
- Kidney and prostate concerns
- Bedwetting in children
- Soothing urinary irritation
Corn silk is a traditional herbal remedy taken as a tea or extract, mostly for urinary and mild fluid-related complaints. High-quality human evidence for these uses is limited, so it should not replace proven treatments. It is generally considered low-risk for short-term use in healthy adults, but talk with your pharmacist or doctor before trying it.
About Semaglutide
What Is Semaglutide Used For?
Brand names: Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy
Semaglutide is available as Wegovy (injection and tablet) and Ozempic (injection), and each product has its own approved uses. Wegovy injection is approved — alongside diet and exercise — to reduce excess body weight in adults and in children aged 12 and older with obesity, to lower the risk of serious heart events (heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death) in adults with obesity or overweight who also have established heart disease, and for treatment of a liver condition called MASH (metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis, formerly called NASH) with moderate-to-advanced scarring in adults. Wegovy tablets share the cardiovascular risk reduction and weight management uses in adults, but are not approved for MASH or for use in children. Ozempic injection is approved to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes (alongside diet and exercise) and to reduce the risk of major cardiovascular events in adults with type 2 diabetes who also have established heart disease.
All forms are used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. Ozempic is not approved for type 1 diabetes. The MASH approval for Wegovy injection is an accelerated approval, meaning continued approval may depend on results from a confirmatory study.

Semaglutide Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Semaglutide as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Corn Silk — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
