Insulin Lispro falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Gymnema interacts with.

Theoretically, taking gymnema with antidiabetes drugs might increase the risk of hypoglycemia.
Gymnema reduces blood glucose levels in some human and animal research. In human studies, it has been shown to enhance the blood glucose lowering effects of hypoglycemic drugs. However, other research in adults with prediabetes or metabolic syndrome suggests that gymnema does not reduce fasting levels of blood glucose. Until more is known, monitor blood glucose levels closely.

Here's the thing to keep in mind: insulin lispro (Admelog) is a fast-acting insulin that directly lowers your blood sugar at mealtimes. Gymnema, on its own, may also nudge your blood sugar downward. When you stack the two together, those effects can add up, and your sugar could drop lower than you expect. That raises your chance of a low blood sugar episode (hypoglycemia), which can show up as shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, confusion, or feeling dizzy.

This isn't a reason to panic. The evidence is still limited and partly theoretical, but it's worth taking seriously. If you'd like to try gymnema, please loop in your pharmacist or doctor first and check your blood sugar more closely. Don't change your insulin dose on your own.

What Is Insulin Lispro Injection Used For?

Brand names: Admelog, Admelog Solostar

Insulin lispro injection is used to improve glycemic control (blood sugar management) in people with diabetes mellitus. It is a rapid-acting insulin analog approved for use in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Admelog is specifically indicated to improve glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus. Humalog Mix75/25 is indicated to improve glycemic control in adults with diabetes mellitus; it is a fixed-ratio mixture of insulin lispro and insulin lispro protamine, and its fixed proportions do not allow for separate adjustment of basal (background) and prandial (mealtime) doses.
