Cubebs and Candesartan Cilexetil

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Candesartan Cilexetil and Cubebs in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Cubebs safety at a glance

Pregnancy Avoid Not enough safety information, so it is best avoided in medicinal amounts during pregnancy.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Candesartan Cilexetil

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Candesartan Cilexetil is filed under 3 classifications — angiotensin receptor blockers (arbs), antihypertensive drugs, oral drugs. Cubebs has documented interactions with 4 drug classes — the most serious being cytochrome p450 3a4 (cyp3a4) substrates (moderate), antacids (minor) and h2-blockers (minor) — and none of Candesartan Cilexetil’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

About Cubebs

What is Cubebs?

Cubebs
  • Coughs and bronchitis
  • Indigestion and gas
  • Urinary tract complaints
  • Sore throat
  • Culinary spice

Cubebs are spicy, peppery berries from a vine in the pepper family that have long been used in traditional medicine for coughs, digestion, and urinary problems. Modern human studies are very limited, so its benefits are not well proven. Use it cautiously as a food spice, and talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using concentrated extracts or oils.

Cubebs: dosing

There is no well-established, standardized medicinal dose for cubebs. Traditional uses varied widely, and modern research has not defined a safe and effective amount. If you choose to use a cubeb product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed the recommended amount. Essential oil should never be swallowed undiluted.

About Candesartan

What Is Candesartan Used For?

Brand names: Atacand, Amias

Candesartan lowers blood pressure in adults and in children 1 to under 17 years old. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks.

It is also used to treat heart failure (NYHA class II-IV) in adults whose heart pumps weakly (left ventricular systolic dysfunction). In these patients it reduces the risk of cardiovascular death and hospital stays for heart failure. The Atacand and candesartan cilexetil tablet labels both list these uses.
