First and most important: please don't take European mandrake at all. It's genuinely toxic and isn't a safe remedy for anything. That warning matters more than the interaction itself.

Here's the idea behind this particular pairing. Mandrake's compounds (atropine-like chemicals) slow down how your gut moves. When your stomach and intestines empty more slowly, a pill like flutamide can sit there longer and potentially be absorbed a bit more than usual. In theory that could mean higher flutamide levels and a greater chance of its known side effects, like nausea, diarrhea, hot flashes, breast tenderness, or strain on the liver. This is only a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not something proven in studies. Still, the safest move is simple: skip the mandrake, and check with your pharmacist or oncologist with any questions.

About Flutamide

What Is Flutamide Used For?

Brand names: Eulexin, Euflex

Eulexin (flutamide) capsules are used to treat prostate cancer in men. They are always used together with an LHRH agonist (a hormone-lowering injection), never alone.

Eulexin is indicated for two stages of prostate cancer: locally confined Stage B2-C prostate cancer (used alongside goserelin acetate and radiation therapy, starting eight weeks before radiation begins) and Stage D2 metastatic prostate cancer (cancer that has spread beyond the prostate, taken with an LHRH agonist until the disease progresses).
