First things first: European mandrake is genuinely toxic, and I'd urge you not to take it at all. But here's how it could theoretically tangle with your Perampanel (Fycompa). Mandrake's tropane alkaloids slow down how fast your gut moves things along. When your gut empties more slowly, a medication can sit there longer and get absorbed more completely, which may push more Perampanel into your system than usual.

With Perampanel, more drug on board can mean stronger dizziness, sleepiness, trouble with balance, and even mood or behavior changes. I want to be clear, though: this is a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals work, not something proven in studies. Please don't change anything on your own. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Perampanel

What Is Perampanel Used For?

Brand name: Fycompa

Perampanel — available as Fycompa and in generic forms — is used to treat partial-onset seizures (seizures that start in one area of the brain) in patients with epilepsy aged 4 years and older. Both the tablet and oral suspension forms carry this indication.

Perampanel tablets and oral suspension are also approved as add-on (adjunctive) therapy for primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures (grand mal seizures involving the whole brain at once) in patients with epilepsy aged 12 years and older. Fycompa oral suspension and tablet share both indications.
