Here's the good news for this particular pairing: the interaction on file is about mandrake slowing down your gut and changing how oral medicines get absorbed. Unoprostone (Rescula) is an eye drop, not a pill. You place it right onto the surface of your eye, so it never really depends on your stomach or intestines to work. That means this specific stomach-related concern doesn't line up well with how unoprostone is actually used.

The bigger issue here is mandrake itself. It's a truly toxic plant, and we strongly recommend against using it in any form. Please don't take it. If you have any concerns about your glaucoma treatment or anything you're considering taking, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Unoprostone Ophthalmic Used For?

Brand name: Rescula

  • Unoprostone ophthalmic is used to treat glaucoma (a condition in which increased pressure in the eye can lead to gradual loss of vision) and ocular hypertension (a condition which causes increased pressure in the eye). It is in a class of medications called prostaglandin analogs. Unoprostone lowers pressure in the eye by increasing the flow of natural eye fluids out of the eye.
