Suvorexant falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Evodia interacts with.

Theoretically, evodia might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that evodia extract inhibits hepatic CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Belsomra (suvorexant). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear this sleep medicine out of your system. In test tube studies, evodia appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in your body too, suvorexant could build up and hit you harder than expected.

In practice, that might mean feeling extra groggy, drowsy the next morning, dizzy, or having trouble shaking off that fuzzy-headed feeling when you wake up. I want to be honest with you, though: this is only based on lab research, and it has not been shown to happen in real people. So it's a theoretical concern, not a proven one. Still, since both affect how alert you feel, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
