Studies on animals have shown that fenugreek seed can decrease both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by up to 22% when combined with metoprolol. Therefore, it is essential to monitor your blood pressure regularly if you are taking fenugreek and metoprolol together or any other antihypertensive drugs.

Here's the simple version: Ramipril already works to bring your blood pressure down, and fenugreek may nudge it a little lower too. Put them together and the effect can add up. The evidence here is on the lighter side (mostly animal data with a different blood pressure drug), so this is rated a minor, possible interaction rather than something to panic over.

If your pressure dips too far, you might feel lightheaded, dizzy, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. The amount of fenugreek you'd get from cooking is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated supplement doses are where I'd pay more attention. My advice: keep an eye on your home blood pressure readings, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before starting a fenugreek supplement so they can guide you.

What Is Ramipril Used For?

Brand name: Altace

Ramipril capsules are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either alone or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

In adults 55 and older at high cardiovascular risk, ramipril capsules are used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death from cardiovascular causes. Ramipril capsules are also used in stable patients who develop signs of heart failure within the first days after a heart attack, to lower the risk of death and hospitalization related to heart failure.
