Here's the gist: amlodipine already lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Some studies show that fermented milk (think kefir or certain cultured drinks) can nudge the top number (systolic) down a little on its own. So in theory, pairing the two could add up and push your pressure a touch lower than expected.

I want to keep this in perspective though. This is a theoretical concern based mostly on how things work, and the blood pressure effect from fermented milk is usually small. A normal serving with a meal is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you notice dizziness, lightheadedness when standing, or unusual tiredness, that's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor. No need to stop your yogurt or your medication, just keep an eye on how you feel.

What Is Amlodipine Used For?

Brand name: Norvasc

Amlodipine treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6–17 years. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Sdamlo (oral solution) is specifically indicated for hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older.

Amlodipine also treats coronary artery disease in adults, including chronic stable angina (chest pain with exertion), vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina, caused by coronary artery spasms), and documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or significantly reduced heart pumping function.
