ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Isradipine
Isradipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Fermented Milk interacts with.
Clinical research shows that drinking fermented milk can decrease systolic, but not diastolic, blood pressure in some patients.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: isradipine (Dynacirc CR) is a calcium channel blocker that lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Some research suggests that regularly drinking fermented milk products, like certain probiotic yogurts or kefir drinks, may nudge your top number (systolic pressure) down a little on its own. Pair that mild effect with isradipine and, in theory, your blood pressure could dip a touch more than expected.
This is a theoretical, low-level concern based on how these work, not a dangerous combo. Most people who enjoy fermented milk with this medication do just fine. Still, keep an eye out for dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when standing up. If you notice that, or you want to track your readings at home, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Isradipine page
“Grapefruit is the first thing I mention to anyone taking isradipine (Dynacirc CR). This blood pressure medicine is cleared by an enzyme called CYP3A4, and grapefruit blocks that enzyme, so drug levels can climb and blood pressure can fall further than intended.”
