Dalteparin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Fulvic Acid interacts with.

Theoretically, taking fulvic acid may decrease the effectiveness of anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro evidence shows that fulvic acid, formed from the oxidation and polymerization of protocatechuic acid, can shorten prothrombin time in human plasma, increasing the risk of clot formation.

Dalteparin (Fragmin) is an injectable blood thinner that lowers your blood's ability to form clots, which is exactly what protects you from a DVT, a clot in the lung, or clot-related heart problems. The concern here is that fulvic acid might push in the opposite direction. In test-tube studies, it shortened prothrombin time, meaning blood clotted a little faster. If that held true in real life, it could blunt how well dalteparin works and theoretically raise your clot risk.

Keep in mind this is theoretical only, based on lab research and not on people taking these two together, so we honestly don't know how meaningful it is. Still, since dalteparin is treating a serious clotting condition, I'd run any fulvic acid supplement by your doctor or pharmacist first.

About Dalteparin Injection

What Is Dalteparin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Fragmin

Fragmin (dalteparin) injection is used to prevent blood clots (deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism) in patients having abdominal surgery, hip replacement surgery, or in medical patients who are severely immobile during a serious illness. It is also used to reduce the risk of dangerous complications from unstable angina and a type of heart attack called non-Q-wave myocardial infarction, given alongside aspirin.

Fragmin is also used for the extended treatment of symptomatic venous thromboembolism (VTE — blood clots in the veins or lungs) to prevent recurrence in adult cancer patients, and for the treatment of symptomatic VTE in children from birth (gestational age at least 35 weeks). Fragmin is not intended for the immediate (acute) treatment of VTE.
