Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.

Here's the honest picture with Palbociclib (Ibrance) and glyconutrients. The concern on file is theoretical: lab studies hint that glyconutrients may nudge the immune system to be more active. Since some cancer and immune-related therapies aim to calm or control immune activity, the worry is that these sugars could work against that goal. Importantly, this is grouped under immunosuppressants in our database, and the evidence is weak (test-tube only), so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

That said, Palbociclib already lowers your white blood cell counts and can cause fatigue and infection risk, so anything that tinkers with immune signaling deserves a quick chat. Please don't start or stop either one on your own. Loop in your oncologist or pharmacist first.

About Palbociclib

What Is Palbociclib Used For?

Brand name: Ibrance

Palbociclib (brand name Ibrance) is used to treat adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative advanced or metastatic breast cancer. It is always given in combination with other medicines — either an aromatase inhibitor as a first hormonal treatment, or with fulvestrant after the cancer has progressed on prior hormonal therapy. It is also used with inavolisib and fulvestrant for a specific subtype (PIK3CA-mutated, endocrine-resistant) of this cancer confirmed by an FDA-authorized test.

Ibrance is also approved in combination with trastuzumab (with or without pertuzumab) and endocrine therapy for maintenance treatment of adults with HR-positive, HER2-positive locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, following initial induction treatment.
