Here's the simple version: Indiplon is a sleep medicine that calms your brain so you can drift off. Goldenseal contains a compound called berberine, and in animal studies berberine showed mild sedative effects of its own. So in theory, taking the two together could add up and leave you feeling more drowsy, groggy, or unsteady than you expect, especially the next morning.

I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This concern comes from lab and animal work, not from people, so it's more of a 'just in case' caution than a proven problem. Still, when sleepiness stacks, falls and next-day fog become real risks. If you're thinking about using goldenseal while on Indiplon, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.
