Aspirin falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Goldenseal contains berberine. In vitro and animal research shows that berberine can inhibit platelet aggregation. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version. Aspirin already works by making your platelets less sticky, which is how it helps prevent clots. Goldenseal contains a compound called berberine, and in lab dishes and animal studies it seems to slow platelet clumping too. So in theory, stacking them could nudge your bleeding risk a bit higher than aspirin alone.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this is theoretical. We have not actually seen this bleeding effect play out in people taking goldenseal. Still, since aspirin is already a blood thinner, it's worth a quick chat. Watch for easy bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or dark stools, and please run goldenseal past your pharmacist or doctor before adding it.
