Oxycodone, Naloxone falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Goldenseal interacts with.

Theoretically, goldenseal might increase the sedative effects of CNS depressants.
Goldenseal contains berberine. Animal research shows that berberine can have sedative effects. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Targiniq ER is a strong opioid pain reliever, and on its own it can cause drowsiness, slowed breathing, dizziness, and constipation. The concern here is mostly a theoretical one: the berberine in goldenseal has shown mild sedative effects in animal studies, but this has not actually been seen in people. So the worry is that goldenseal could add a little extra sleepiness on top of what your opioid already does.

I wouldn't lose sleep over this, but I also wouldn't ignore it. If you notice you feel unusually groggy or foggy after adding goldenseal, that's worth paying attention to. Before combining them, give your pharmacist or doctor a quick call so they can look at your full medication list and give you the all-clear.

Here's the gist with Targiniq ER (oxycodone with naloxone) and goldenseal. Goldenseal can slow down a liver enzyme called CYP2D6, which is one of the pathways your body uses to break oxycodone down. When that pathway is blocked, oxycodone can build up a bit higher than usual. For you, that may mean stronger opioid effects, things like more drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, nausea, or in larger amounts, slowed breathing.

This is rated a probable, moderate interaction, but the human evidence is on the lower-quality side, so it's not a sure thing. Concentrated goldenseal supplements are more likely to matter than tiny food amounts. Please don't change anything on your own. Just check in with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.
