Guarumo (Cecropia obtusifolia) is a tropical tree used in Latin American traditional medicine, most often as a leaf tea for diabetes and high blood pressure. Some early laboratory and small human studies suggest it may modestly affect blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. What Is Carboplatin Injection Used For?

Brand name: Paraplatin

Carboplatin Injection is used to treat advanced ovarian cancer. It is approved for use as part of an initial combination chemotherapy regimen — one established combination pairs it with cyclophosphamide. It has also been used as a single agent in patients with recurrent ovarian cancer after prior treatment.

Because two brands are available — Kyxata and Paraplatin — your care team will specify which product you receive. Both are given by intravenous (IV) infusion in a clinical setting under the supervision of a physician experienced in cancer chemotherapy.
