Lofepramine is a tricyclic antidepressant, and on its own it can already make some people feel drowsy or a little foggy. The concern here is overlap. In one animal study, a water-based guarumo extract calmed the central nervous system, causing wobbliness and muscle relaxation. So in theory, pairing it with lofepramine could add to the sleepiness, leaving you more tired, dizzy, or unsteady on your feet than usual.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it comes from lab and animal work, not human studies, so it's more a caution than a proven problem. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you already notice drowsiness from your lofepramine.

Guarumo (Cecropia obtusifolia) is a tropical tree used in Latin American traditional medicine, most often as a leaf tea for diabetes and high blood pressure.
