Guarumo + Timolol
Timolol brand names: Blocadren, Timol, Timoptic.
Guarumo has a moderate interaction with Timolol. Evidence from animal research suggests that aqueous and ethanolic extracts of guarumo leaf can lower blood pressure when administered intravenously to rats.

ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Timolol
Timolol falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Guarumo interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: guarumo tea may gently lower blood pressure on its own. Since timolol is already working to bring your blood pressure down and slow your heart rate, adding guarumo could stack those effects together. That might tip you into hypotension, with symptoms like dizziness, lightheadedness when you stand up, fatigue, or a heart rate that runs slower than usual.
Now, I want to be straight with you: this caution comes from animal research only, where extracts were injected into rats, not from people sipping the tea. So it's more of a theoretical heads-up than a proven problem. Still, if you take timolol and want to try guarumo, check in with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your blood pressure readings.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Timolol page
“The supplement list for timolol (Blocadren, Timoptic) calls for genuine care, starting with its five major-rated entries. Timolol is a beta-blocker that slows the heart and lowers blood pressure, and even the eye-drop form absorbs enough to matter.”

About Guarumo
What is Guarumo?
- Type 2 diabetes / blood sugar support
- High blood pressure
- Cough, asthma, and bronchitis
- Heart failure symptoms
- Liver and rheumatic complaints
Guarumo (Cecropia obtusifolia) is a tropical tree used in Latin American traditional medicine, most often as a leaf tea for diabetes and high blood pressure. Some early laboratory and small human studies suggest it may modestly affect blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a chronic condition or take medication.
About Timolol
What Is Timolol Used For?
Brand names: Blocadren, Timol, Timoptic
Timolol eye drops lower raised pressure inside the eye in people with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma. This is the use for every eye product listed, including Timoptic, Timoptic-XE, Istalol, Betimol and Timolol GFS.
Timolol Maleate tablets (taken by mouth) have different uses. They treat high blood pressure, reduce the risk of death and repeat heart attack in stable patients who have survived the acute phase of a heart attack, and help prevent migraine headaches.

Timolol Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Timolol as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Guarumo — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
