Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CNS DEPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Aripiprazole Lauroxil
Aripiprazole Lauroxil falls under CNS DEPRESSANTS — the group Guarumo interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: Aristada (aripiprazole lauroxil) is a long-acting injection used to manage schizophrenia. On its own it can make some people feel drowsy or a bit slowed down. Guarumo is the wild card here. In an animal study, a water extract of these leaves had a calming, muscle-relaxing effect on the brain and nervous system, so the concern is that pairing the two could pile on extra sedation.
Honestly, this is a theoretical worry. We only have lab and animal data, not real human cases, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you ever combine them, watch for stronger sleepiness, dizziness, or feeling unsteady on your feet. Since your injection lasts for weeks, please run any guarumo use past your pharmacist or doctor first.

“Aripiprazole lauroxil (Aristada) is a long-acting antipsychotic injection, and because each dose keeps working for weeks, a bad supplement pairing cannot be undone by skipping a pill. So the 16 major-rated entries among its 233 interactions on file deserve to be understood first.”

About Guarumo
What is Guarumo?
- Type 2 diabetes / blood sugar support
- High blood pressure
- Cough, asthma, and bronchitis
- Heart failure symptoms
- Liver and rheumatic complaints
Guarumo (Cecropia obtusifolia) is a tropical tree used in Latin American traditional medicine, most often as a leaf tea for diabetes and high blood pressure. Some early laboratory and small human studies suggest it may modestly affect blood sugar, but the evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a chronic condition or take medication.
