Anacaulase-bcdb falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Hawthorn interacts with.

Theoretically, hawthorn may increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro and animal research shows that hawthorn can inhibit platelet aggregation. However, its effect in humans is unclear. One observational study shows that patients taking hawthorn shortly before undergoing coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery or valve replacement surgery have a 10% incidence of postoperative bleeding, compared with 1% in those who never consumed hawthorn extract. However, clinical research shows that taking a specific preparation of dried hawthorn leaves and flowers (Crataesor, Soria Natural Lab) 800 mg three times daily for 15 days does not affect platelet aggregation or levels of thromboxane B2, the metabolite of thromboxane A2, in healthy humans.

Here's the thing about NexoBrid (anacaulase-bcdb): it isn't really a pill you swallow. It's a gel made from bromelain-type enzymes that surgeons spread onto severe burn wounds to dissolve away dead tissue so the burn can be cleaned. Because it's clearing damaged skin, those treated wounds can ooze and bleed a little as part of the process.

Hawthorn, on paper, might make platelets (the cells that help blood clot) a bit less sticky. The evidence here is mostly theoretical and from lab and animal studies, and human results are mixed, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, when you combine anything that may thin the blood with a wound-debriding treatment, there's a fair chance of more oozing or bleeding at the burn site. Please tell your burn care team and pharmacist you take hawthorn before treatment so they can watch you closely.
