Hawthorn + Sildenafil
Sildenafil brand name: Revatio.
Hawthorn has a major interaction with Sildenafil. Theoretically, concomitant use might result in additive vasodilation and hypotension.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
PHOSPHODIESTERASE-5 INHIBITORS
Why this applies to Sildenafil
Sildenafil falls under PHOSPHODIESTERASE-5 INHIBITORS — the group Hawthorn interacts with.
Hawthorn might inhibit PDE-5 and cause vasodilation.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the thing to keep in mind if you take sildenafil (Revatio or Viagra) and you're thinking about hawthorn. Sildenafil already works by relaxing blood vessels and widening them so blood flows more easily. Hawthorn appears to act in a similar way, and lab research even suggests it may block the same PDE-5 enzyme that sildenafil targets. So putting the two together could stack their effects.
When that happens, blood pressure can drop too far. You might feel dizzy, lightheaded, flushed, or get a pounding headache, and standing up quickly could make you feel faint. I'll be honest, this is based on how both work in theory, not on strong studies in people, so it's more of a caution than a proven danger. Still, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Sildenafil page
“Sildenafil relaxes blood vessels, whether prescribed as Revatio for pulmonary hypertension or as Viagra, and that blood-pressure-lowering action makes this list one to treat with genuine care. Of the 160 supplement and herbal ingredients on file, five carry a major rating, and those deserve understanding first.”

About Hawthorn
What is Hawthorn?
- Heart failure symptoms
- High blood pressure
- Chest pain (angina)
- Irregular heartbeat
- Digestive upset
- Anxiety
Hawthorn is a plant traditionally used for heart-related complaints, and some studies suggest it may modestly help symptoms of mild heart failure when added to standard care. However, the evidence is mixed and it should never replace prescribed heart medicines. Always talk to your pharmacist or doctor before using hawthorn, especially if you have a heart condition.
About Sildenafil
What Is Sildenafil Used For?
Brand name: Revatio
Sildenafil treats two distinct conditions depending on the product. Viagra (tablet) and Vybrique (dissolving oral film) are approved for erectile dysfunction (ED) — difficulty getting or keeping an erection. Generic sildenafil tablets and oral film are also approved for ED.
Revatio and several generic sildenafil products (tablets, oral suspension, and injection) are used for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) — high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs — in adults to improve exercise ability and slow the disease from getting worse. Revatio oral suspension and injection are also approved for PAH in children ages 1 to 17.
