HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Darunavir, Cobicistat
Darunavir, Cobicistat falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the concern with pairing hemp agrimony and your Prezcobix (darunavir with cobicistat). The herb can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds that are known to be hard on the liver. Darunavir-based HIV therapy already carries its own risk of liver strain, so the worry is that stacking the two could add up and stress your liver more than either alone.
To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how the ingredients behave, not on real cases in people taking this exact combination. Still, liver trouble can show up quietly, think unusual tiredness, nausea, yellowing of the skin or eyes, or dark urine. Because HIV treatment is too important to put at risk, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using any product containing hemp agrimony.

About Hemp Agrimony
What is Hemp Agrimony?
- Digestive complaints
- Cold and flu symptoms
- Respiratory conditions
- Mild fever
- Traditional 'tonic' or detox use
Hemp agrimony is a traditional European herb that has been used for digestion, colds, and as a general tonic, but there is very little reliable human research to support these uses. More importantly, the plant can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids that may harm the liver, so most experts do not recommend taking it internally. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using any product that contains hemp agrimony.
