Deucravacitinib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.

Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing these two. Hemp agrimony can contain natural compounds called pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which are known to be tough on the liver. Deucravacitinib (Sotyktu), your psoriasis medication, can also occasionally raise liver enzymes on its own. So the worry is an additive strain on your liver if you take both together, not one changing how the other is broken down.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is theoretical, based on how these substances behave, not on real cases with this exact drug. Still, hemp agrimony isn't recommended for swallowing anyway because of those liver-harming alkaloids. Watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.

What Is Deucravacitinib Used For?

Brand name: Sotyktu

Sotyktu (deucravacitinib) is approved to treat two conditions in adults. First, it treats moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in people who are candidates for systemic (body-wide) therapy or phototherapy (light therapy). It is not recommended to combine Sotyktu with other strong immune-suppressing medications for this use.

Second, Sotyktu is approved to treat active psoriatic arthritis in adults.
