Nirogacestat falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.

Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing hemp agrimony and Nirogacestat (Ogsiveo). This isn't about one changing the other's blood levels. Instead, it's about both being tough on the liver at the same time. Hemp agrimony can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds that may damage liver cells, and Nirogacestat itself can raise liver enzymes and cause liver-related side effects in some people taking it for desmoid tumors.

Stacking two things that stress the liver could, in theory, add up to more harm. I'll be honest: this is a theoretical caution based on how these substances behave, not proven cases. Still, since your care team already watches your liver labs on Nirogacestat, please loop in your oncologist or pharmacist before using any hemp agrimony product.

Brand name: Ogsiveo

Ogsiveo (nirogacestat) is used to treat adults with desmoid tumors that are growing or progressing and require systemic (whole-body) treatment. Desmoid tumors are rare, locally aggressive growths that arise from connective tissue.

This indication is specific to Ogsiveo tablets taken by mouth. It is not approved for use in children, as safety and effectiveness have not been established in pediatric patients.
