Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the gist for your mini-pill (norgestrel). The concern isn't about how the hormone works or how your body breaks it down. Instead, it's about the liver. Hemp agrimony can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds that may be hard on liver tissue. Hormonal birth control like norgestrel can also occasionally stress the liver, so combining the two could, in theory, add up to more strain.

I want to be honest with you though: this is a theoretical worry based on how the herb behaves, not on real cases of people taking these two together. Watch for signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, or pain on your upper right side, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before using any hemp agrimony product.

Norethindrone progestin-only pills — sometimes called the "mini-pill" — are used solely to prevent pregnancy. They do not contain estrogen, which makes them an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen-containing contraceptives.

When taken perfectly (same time every day, no missed pills), fewer than 1 in 100 women will become pregnant in the first year. With typical use, that number rises to about 9 in 100 — mostly because of late or skipped pills. Consistency is everything with this method.
