Ribociclib Succinate falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.

Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the concern with combining hemp agrimony and ribociclib (Kisqali). This herb can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds that are known to stress and potentially harm the liver. Ribociclib, on its own, can already raise your liver enzymes, and your cancer team watches your liver bloodwork closely while you're on it. Stacking a liver-stressing herb on top of a liver-stressing drug could, in theory, add up to more strain on that organ.

To be fair, this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not a proven case-by-case interaction. Still, because hemp agrimony isn't recommended for internal use anyway, I'd skip it here and check with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding any supplement during ribociclib treatment.

What Is Ribociclib Used For?

Brand name: Kisqali

Kisqali (ribociclib) tablets are used in adults with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. For early breast cancer (stage II or III, at high risk of coming back), Kisqali is given alongside an aromatase inhibitor as adjuvant treatment — meaning treatment after initial surgery to reduce the risk of the cancer returning.

For advanced or metastatic breast cancer (cancer that has spread), Kisqali is used in combination with either an aromatase inhibitor or fulvestrant — as the first hormonal treatment tried, or after the cancer has grown despite prior hormone therapy.
