Tagraxofusp-Erzs falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.

Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing hemp agrimony and Elzonris (tagraxofusp-erzs). This isn't about one speeding up or slowing down the other. Instead, both can be tough on the liver. Hemp agrimony may contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds known to damage liver cells. Elzonris already carries a real risk of liver injury, including a serious complication called capillary leak syndrome and rising liver enzymes. Stacking two liver stressors together could theoretically add up.

To be fair, this is a theoretical caution based on how these compounds behave, not on direct studies. Still, since Elzonris is a powerful cancer treatment and your care team watches your liver closely, please loop in your oncologist or pharmacist before using any hemp agrimony product.

What Is Tagraxofusp-erzs Injection Used For?

Brand name: Elzonris

  • Tagraxofusp-erzs injection is used to treat blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN; a blood cancer that causes skin lesions, and may spread to the bone marrow and lymphatic system) in adults and children 2 years of age and older. Tagraxofusp-erzs is in a class of medications called CD123 cytotoxin. It works by killing cancer cells.
