Trazodone HCl falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Hemp Agrimony interacts with.

Hemp agrimony contains hepatotoxic pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA). Theoretically, using hemp agrimony with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects on the liver. Some drugs that can adversely affect the liver include acetaminophen (Tylenol and others), amiodarone (Cordarone), carbamazepine (Tegretol), isoniazid (INH), methotrexate (Rheumatrex), methyldopa (Aldomet), fluconazole (Diflucan), itraconazole (Sporanox), erythromycin (Erythrocin, Ilosone, others), phenytoin (Dilantin), lovastatin (Mevacor), pravastatin (Pravachol), simvastatin (Zocor), and many others.

Here's the concern with pairing hemp agrimony and trazodone. Hemp agrimony can contain pyrrolizidine alkaloids, natural compounds that may be hard on the liver. Trazodone is also processed by your liver and, in rare cases, can stress it too. Putting the two together could, in theory, add up to more liver strain than either alone.

I want to be honest about the evidence here: this is a theoretical concern based on how these substances behave, not on strong human studies. Still, because of the liver risk from pyrrolizidine alkaloids, most experts already advise against taking hemp agrimony internally. If you ever notice yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, contact your doctor. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
