Theoretically, higenamine might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

This combination product contains codeine, which is the piece that matters here. Codeine is a prodrug, meaning it does nothing for pain until your body converts it into morphine using an enzyme called CYP2D6. Lab studies suggest higenamine may block that very enzyme. If that happened in real life, your body would make less morphine, so you might get weaker pain relief from the codeine.

I want to keep this in perspective, though. This is only test-tube data and has never been shown in actual people, so it's theoretical. On top of that, higenamine itself can raise heart rate and blood pressure, which isn't great to stack onto any medication. If you're considering it, please run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Theoretically, higenamine might increase the risk of bleeding or bruising when taken with anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs.
Animal research shows that higenamine inhibits platelet aggregation and reduces the size of thrombus formation.

This combination product contains aspirin, which is the piece that matters here. Aspirin already thins the blood by blocking platelets from clumping together. In animal studies, higenamine seems to do something similar, slowing platelet activity and reducing clot formation. Stacked together, the two could add up and slightly raise your chances of bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding, which aspirin can already cause on its own.

I want to be honest that this is a theoretical concern based on lab and animal data, not solid human studies, so it's not a reason to panic. Still, since higenamine products are poorly regulated and rough on the heart, I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.

Higenamine is a plant-based stimulant compound added to many weight-loss and pre-workout supplements, but there is very little human evidence that it works and real concerns about heart and blood pressure effects.
