Morphine Sulfate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Higenamine interacts with.

Theoretically, higenamine might increase the levels and clinical effects of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the honest picture with higenamine and morphine. The concern on file is that higenamine may block an enzyme called CYP2D6, which could in theory let drugs handled by that enzyme build up. But this is really lab-dish data only, and it has not been shown to happen in actual people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

On top of that, CYP2D6 is a fairly minor player for morphine. Morphine is mostly cleared a different way (through glucuronidation), so even if higenamine nudged CYP2D6, the effect on your morphine levels would likely be small. I'm more worried about higenamine itself, since it acts like adrenaline and can raise your heart rate and blood pressure. Please run this combo by your pharmacist or doctor before mixing them.

Morphine is used to manage acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) pain that is severe enough to need an opioid and that hasn't been adequately treated by other options. The higher-concentration liquid form is reserved for adults who are already opioid-tolerant — meaning their body is used to opioid medications.

Because of real risks of addiction, misuse, and overdose, morphine is only prescribed when other pain treatments have not worked or are not expected to work. It is not intended for long-term use unless the pain continues to be severe and no alternatives are suitable.
