Lemborexant falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Higenamine interacts with.

Theoretically, higenamine might increase the levels and clinical effects drugs metabolized by CYP3A4.
In vitro research shows that higenamine inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes by 21%. However, this effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the basic idea with these two together. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear lemborexant (Dayvigo) out of your system. Some lab research suggests higenamine may slow that enzyme down a little. If that happened in real life, lemborexant could hang around longer than usual, which might mean a stronger or longer sleep-aid effect, things like next-morning grogginess, dizziness, or trouble feeling fully awake.

That said, I want to keep this in perspective. This was only seen in a test tube (about a 21% block), and it has never been shown in actual people. So it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. There's also a separate worry: higenamine is a stimulant that can raise heart rate and blood pressure, which is an odd pairing with a sleep medicine anyway. I'd run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
