Here's the simple version: Kazano is a combination of alogliptin and metformin, two medicines that work together to lower your blood sugar. Holy basil, on its own, has shown in some small studies that it can also nudge fasting blood sugar down a bit. So the concern isn't that holy basil changes how your body breaks down Kazano. Instead, it's that you'd have two blood-sugar-lowering effects stacking up.

The realistic worry is hypoglycemia, meaning your sugar dips too low. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or feeling confused. The evidence here is fairly modest, so this isn't a reason to panic. Still, if you'd like to try holy basil, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep an eye on your glucose readings.
