Here's the simple version: Trulicity (dulaglutide) already does a nice job of lowering your blood sugar. Some small studies suggest holy basil can nudge fasting blood sugar down a bit too. So when you stack the two together, the worry is that your numbers could drop a little lower than expected, which raises your chances of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). That can show up as shakiness, sweating, dizziness, headache, or feeling weak or confused.

This isn't a sure thing. The evidence is fairly thin and the effect of holy basil tends to be modest, so for many people it may not cause trouble. Still, if you'd like to try tulsi, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first, and keep an eye on your home blood sugar readings so you can catch any lows early. Don't change your Trulicity dose on your own.

What Is Dulaglutide Injection Used For?

Brand name: Trulicity

Trulicity (dulaglutide) injection is used alongside diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults and children 10 years and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is not for type 1 diabetes.

Trulicity is also used in adults with type 2 diabetes who have established cardiovascular disease or multiple cardiovascular risk factors to lower the risk of major heart events — specifically cardiovascular death, non-fatal heart attack, or non-fatal stroke.
