Loratadine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Horny Goat Weed interacts with.

Theoretically, horny goat weed might increase the effects and side effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, horny goat weed extract inhibits CYP3A4 and suppresses CYP3A4 mRNA expression. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the simple version: your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help break down loratadine (Claritin). In a test tube, horny goat weed has slowed that same enzyme down. If that happened in real life, loratadine could clear a bit more slowly and build up, which might nudge up its effects and side effects. With loratadine that usually means mild things like a dry mouth, a headache, or feeling a little drowsy (it's normally a non-drowsy antihistamine, so any sleepiness would be the giveaway).

The important part: this is only lab data, and it has not been shown to happen in people. So I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you plan to take both, it's worth a quick word with your pharmacist or doctor, especially if you have heart concerns or take other medicines.
