Here's the gist: nadolol is a beta blocker that already works to lower your blood pressure and slow your heart rate. Horny goat weed has shown blood-pressure-lowering effects in lab and animal studies only, so the worry is that stacking the two could push your pressure down a little too far.

If that happened, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, tired, or even faint when standing up. I want to be honest, though: this has not been reported in actual people, so it's a theoretical concern rather than a proven one. Nadolol isn't a prodrug, so this is about added effect, not changed metabolism. Since you're already managing blood pressure or angina, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this herb.

What Is Nadolol Used For?

Nadolol tablets are used for two main conditions: high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina pectoris (ongoing chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.

For high blood pressure, nadolol may be prescribed on its own or combined with other blood pressure medications, especially thiazide-type diuretics (water pills). For angina, it is used for long-term management to help reduce how often chest pain occurs.
