These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with whole categories of medication. Levamlodipine falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Humann Superbeets Heart Chews in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).
Antihypertensive Drugs
1 of 2Why this applies to Levamlodipine
Levamlodipine falls under Antihypertensive Drugs — the group Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Levamlodipine (Conjupri) is a calcium channel blocker that already relaxes and widens your blood vessels to bring blood pressure down. The beetroot in these chews adds a little nitrate, which your body turns into nitric oxide and that also nudges blood vessels open. So you're not changing how your body breaks down levamlodipine, you're just stacking two mild blood-pressure-lowering effects on top of each other.
In practice this is rated minor, and the beet effect is usually small and short-lived. The main thing to watch for is a bit more dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling washed out, especially when you stand up quickly. If you'd like to try the chews, that's a reasonable conversation to have with your pharmacist or doctor, and checking your blood pressure at home can give you peace of mind.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
2 of 2Levamlodipine also falls under Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for Conjupri (levamlodipine): it's an active blood pressure medicine, not a prodrug, and your liver clears it using an enzyme called CYP3A4. The grape seed extract in SuperBeets Heart Chews has shown, in lab dish studies only, a mild ability to slow that same enzyme. In theory, slower clearance could let a bit more levamlodipine build up, which might nudge its effects up a little. With levamlodipine that could mean more ankle swelling, flushing, dizziness, or lightheadedness from blood pressure dropping.
Realistically, this is a minor and unlikely concern. It's never been reported in actual people, and the beets in this product can also gently lower blood pressure on their own. Still, since both work on blood pressure, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them, especially if you already feel dizzy.
