Saxagliptin falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Indigo Pulchra interacts with.

Theoretically, indigo pulchra might lower blood glucose levels and might have additive effects when used with antidiabetes drugs. This might increase the risk of hypoglycemia in some patients. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, metformin (Glucophage), pioglitazone (Actos), rosiglitazone (Avandia), and others.

Here's the basic idea: there's a thought that Indigo Pulchra may have its own blood-sugar-lowering action. If that's true, stacking it on top of saxagliptin (Onglyza) could push your glucose lower than either one alone. Saxagliptin works by helping your body release more of its own insulin after meals, so adding a second sugar-lowering effect could tip some people into hypoglycemia (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or feeling weak).

I want to be honest with you, though: this is only a theoretical concern based on lab or animal-type signals, and frankly we can't even confirm what Indigo Pulchra really is. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but I would check your blood sugar a little more closely and run this product by your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Saxagliptin tablets are used to help adults with type 2 diabetes control their blood sugar levels. It is meant to be used together with diet and exercise, either alone or alongside other diabetes medicines.

Saxagliptin tablets are not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (a dangerous complication where the blood becomes too acidic).
