Amlodipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Isopropylnorsynephrine interacts with.

Theoretically, isopropylnorsynephrine might decrease the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
In vitro research shows that isopropylnorsynephrine is a highly selective, direct-acting beta-adrenergic receptor agonist with positive chronotropic effects, and hypertension has been reported in patients taking combination products containing isopropylnorsynephrine and other stimulants.

Here's the basic tug-of-war: amlodipine is working to relax your blood vessels and bring your blood pressure down, while isopropylnorsynephrine is a stimulant that can do the opposite, nudging your heart rate and blood pressure up. So in theory, taking this supplement could partly cancel out the benefit you get from your amlodipine, making it harder to keep your numbers where your doctor wants them.

I'll be honest with you, this concern comes mostly from lab studies and a few reports, not strong human trials, so the real-world risk isn't well proven. Still, pairing a stimulant with a blood pressure medication isn't something I'd take lightly. Before using any pre-workout or weight-loss product with this ingredient, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Amlodipine Used For?

Brand name: Norliqva

Amlodipine treats high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6–17 years. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of strokes and heart attacks. Sdamlo (oral solution) is specifically indicated for hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older.

Amlodipine also treats coronary artery disease in adults, including chronic stable angina (chest pain with exertion), vasospastic angina (Prinzmetal's or variant angina, caused by coronary artery spasms), and documented coronary artery disease in patients without heart failure or significantly reduced heart pumping function.
