Theoretically, isopropylnorsynephrine might decrease the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
In vitro research shows that isopropylnorsynephrine is a highly selective, direct-acting beta-adrenergic receptor agonist with positive chronotropic effects, and hypertension has been reported in patients taking combination products containing isopropylnorsynephrine and other stimulants.

If you take metolazone to lower blood pressure or pull off extra fluid, here's the concern with isopropylnorsynephrine. This supplement is a stimulant, and stimulants like it can raise your heart rate and blood pressure. That works against what metolazone is trying to do, so in theory it could blunt how well your water pill controls your blood pressure.

Now, the honest part: this is based on lab and animal data, not solid human studies, so it's more of a theoretical caution than a proven problem. Still, real-world reports of high blood pressure with stimulant combos make it worth taking seriously. Before adding any pre-workout or weight-loss product with this ingredient, please check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

What Is Metolazone Used For?

Brand names: Diulo, Zaroxolyn, Mykrox

Metolazone tablets are used to treat edema (excess fluid buildup) linked to congestive heart failure or kidney diseases — including nephrotic syndrome and conditions with reduced kidney function. They are also used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either alone or alongside other blood pressure medications.

Metolazone tablets may also be used during pregnancy when edema is caused by a medical condition rather than normal pregnancy changes — but routine use in otherwise healthy pregnant women is not appropriate.
