Captopril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Isopropylnorsynephrine interacts with.

Theoretically, isopropylnorsynephrine might decrease the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
In vitro research shows that isopropylnorsynephrine is a highly selective, direct-acting beta-adrenergic receptor agonist with positive chronotropic effects, and hypertension has been reported in patients taking combination products containing isopropylnorsynephrine and other stimulants.

Here's the basic tug-of-war: captopril works to relax your blood vessels and bring your blood pressure down, while isopropylnorsynephrine is a stimulant that can do the opposite by raising your heart rate and tightening blood vessels. Used together, this supplement may blunt how well captopril controls your numbers, so you could see your blood pressure creep back up or stay higher than it should.

I'll be honest with you, the evidence here is on the weaker side, mostly lab and animal data plus a few reports of high blood pressure from combo stimulant products. Still, it doesn't make much sense to take something that fights what your captopril is trying to do. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using any product containing it.

Isopropylnorsynephrine is a synthetic stimulant chemically related to synephrine, marketed mainly in weight-loss and pre-workout supplements. It has very little human safety or effectiveness research, and as a stimulant it may raise heart rate and blood pressure, so caution is strongly advised. What Is Captopril Used For?

Brand names: Capoten, Acepril

Captopril tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), heart failure, and left ventricular dysfunction (weakened pumping function of the heart) in stable patients after a heart attack. For the heart attack indication, it helps improve survival and reduces the chance of developing full heart failure.

Captopril tablets are also used to slow the progression of diabetic nephropathy (kidney damage caused by diabetes) in people with type 1 (insulin-dependent) diabetes who have retinopathy and significant protein in their urine. It reduces the risk of the kidneys failing to the point of needing dialysis or a transplant.
