Ramipril falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Isopropylnorsynephrine interacts with.

Theoretically, isopropylnorsynephrine might decrease the effects of antihypertensive drugs.
In vitro research shows that isopropylnorsynephrine is a highly selective, direct-acting beta-adrenergic receptor agonist with positive chronotropic effects, and hypertension has been reported in patients taking combination products containing isopropylnorsynephrine and other stimulants.

Here's the simple version: ramipril (Altace) lowers your blood pressure by relaxing your blood vessels. Isopropylnorsynephrine is a stimulant, and stimulants like this tend to do the opposite. They can speed up your heart and tighten blood vessels, which may nudge your blood pressure and pulse back up. So in theory this supplement could work against ramipril and make it less effective at keeping your numbers in a healthy range.

I want to be honest about the strength of the evidence here. This concern comes mostly from lab studies, not solid human trials, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, there are real-world reports of high blood pressure with products containing this ingredient. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing it with ramipril.

What Is Ramipril Used For?

Brand name: Altace

Ramipril capsules are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), either alone or combined with a thiazide diuretic (water pill). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

In adults 55 and older at high cardiovascular risk, ramipril capsules are used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death from cardiovascular causes. Ramipril capsules are also used in stable patients who develop signs of heart failure within the first days after a heart attack, to lower the risk of death and hospitalization related to heart failure.
