ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen
Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Kiwi interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version. Combogesic is a combo of acetaminophen and ibuprofen. The ibuprofen part is an NSAID, and NSAIDs already nudge your blood toward bleeding a bit by making platelets (the tiny cells that clump to form clots) less sticky. Kiwi appears to do something similar in lab research, so eating a lot of it alongside ibuprofen could, in theory, stack those effects and make bruising, nosebleeds, or stomach bleeding a little more likely.
That said, this is a theoretical concern based mostly on how kiwi behaves in studies, not strong real-world proof. A kiwi or two as a snack is very unlikely to cause trouble for most people. If you take Combogesic regularly, lean on concentrated kiwi supplements, or notice unusual bruising or dark stools, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.
