ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Methyldopa
Methyldopa falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Kiwi interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: methyldopa already works to bring your blood pressure down, and some research suggests kiwi may nudge blood pressure a little lower too. So when you pair them, the worry is that the two effects could stack up, which might leave your numbers a bit lower than expected. The most likely thing you'd notice is feeling dizzy, lightheaded, or tired, especially when standing up quickly. Methyldopa can already cause drowsiness, so don't be surprised if any of that feels stronger.
Keep in mind this is theoretical, based on how things work rather than strong proof, and a few servings of kiwi as food is unlikely to cause trouble. If you ever feel faint or notice big swings, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Methyldopa page
“Alcohol is the entry I would read first. Methyldopa (Aldomet) can be hard on the liver by itself, and 38 of the 173 supplement and herbal ingredients here, beer and wine included, carry liver risks that could stack on top of that.”

Methyldopa Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Methyldopa as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Kiwi — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
