Clinical research suggests that kiwi inhibits platelet aggregation. Theoretically, kiwi might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Here's the deal with your aspirin and codeine combo. The aspirin part already thins your blood a little by making platelets less sticky, which is exactly how it helps prevent clots. Kiwi has been shown in some research to do a similar thing and slow platelets down too. So when you stack them, there's a theoretical chance of a bit more bleeding, things like easier bruising, nosebleeds, or a cut that takes longer to stop. The codeine part isn't really involved here.

Honestly, this is based on how things work on paper, not strong patient studies, and a few kiwis as food are very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're eating large amounts or taking kiwi supplements, just give your pharmacist or doctor a quick heads up.
