Kiwi and Aspirin, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine Bitartrate

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.

Moderate

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS

Why this applies to Aspirin, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine Bitartrate

Aspirin, Caffeine, Dihydrocodeine Bitartrate falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Kiwi interacts with.

Clinical research suggests that kiwi inhibits platelet aggregation. Theoretically, kiwi might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

Here's the thing to know about Synalgos DC: it contains aspirin, which already works by making your platelets less sticky so they clot a little slower. Some studies show that kiwi can also nudge platelets in that same direction. So in theory, pairing the two could add up and make you a touch more prone to bleeding or bruising than aspirin alone, things like nosebleeds, easy bruising, or a cut that takes longer to stop.

I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical concern based on how kiwi behaves in the lab, not strong real-world proof. Enjoying kiwi as a normal food is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're taking concentrated kiwi supplements or notice unusual bleeding, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor first.
