ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Amlodipine
Amlodipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Kiwi interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: amlodipine already does the work of relaxing your blood vessels and bringing your blood pressure down. Some research suggests kiwi can nudge blood pressure down a little too. Put them together and, in theory, your numbers could dip a bit lower than expected. The two are working in the same direction, so this isn't about kiwi changing how your body breaks down the drug. It's just a gentle additive effect on top of your medication.
Honestly, this is a theoretical concern based on how kiwi behaves, and eating kiwi as a normal food is unlikely to cause trouble for most people. Still, if you notice dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling faint when you stand up, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor rather than changing anything on your own.

“Millions of people take amlodipine (Norvasc, Norliqva) for high blood pressure, and plenty add a supplement or two without a second thought. With this drug, that casualness costs.”

- Constipation and digestive health
- Vitamin C and antioxidant support
- Sleep support
- Immune support
- Heart and cholesterol health
Kiwi is a nutritious fruit that is rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, and it is generally safe to eat as a food.
