ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS
Why this applies to Clevidipine
Clevidipine falls under ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUGS — the group Kiwi interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with kiwi and clevidipine. Clevidipine is a fast-acting IV blood pressure medication, usually given in a hospital setting to bring high blood pressure down quickly. Kiwi itself has been shown in some studies to gently lower blood pressure on its own. So in theory, the two together could nudge your blood pressure a little lower than expected.
Honestly, this one is mostly theoretical and based on how things work on paper, not on real reports of problems. Since clevidipine is given and closely monitored by your care team, they're already watching your blood pressure carefully and can adjust the drip. A normal serving of kiwi as food is very unlikely to cause trouble. If you're using concentrated kiwi supplements, just mention it to your nurse or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clevidipine page
“When you are on clevidipine (Cleviprex), a hospital IV drip used to bring dangerously high blood pressure down fast, every one of the 119 supplements and herbs listed here pushes on the very thing the drug controls, and that earns this list real caution. Most of the 104 moderate entries, everyday products like fish oil among them, add…”

Clevidipine Is Linked to Lower Levels of One Nutrient
Natural Medicines records Clevidipine as a medicine that can lower these. This is not an interaction with Kiwi — it is a separate effect of the medicine, and it is a reason some people are advised to supplement rather than to avoid one:
